50 New and Improved Hiking Trails

by Touchpoint Israel

Israel’s National Parks Authority has recently completed a project to create several new hiking trails across the country, and improve the ones that already exist. The 50 new and improved routes will debut on February 27th and March 6th.

Hiking is a favorite national pastime in Israel, and many tourists also enjoy the scenic trails from the Negev in south to the Golan Heights in the north. Every year, about 18 million hikers and nature enthusiasts travel these routes. Now it will be easier than ever for people to find the trails that suit their tastes, because the Parks Authority has categorized each trail. Each one is specifically recommended for one of four groups: hikers, families, cycling and 4×4 vehicles, and the physically disabled.

You can find a complete map of the trails and their descriptions here.
