No visit to Israel is complete without spending a few hours at Yad Vashem, Israel’s national museum dedicated to preserving and honoring the memory of more than 6 million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust. The name Yad Vashem comes from Isaiah 56:5, and means “a memorial and a name.” Through the museum’s tireless work over the last 60 years, more than 4 million names of these men, women, and children have been collected.
