During the week-long festival of Sukkot, Israelis and tourists flock to special events taking place around the country. Here are 5 you don’t want to miss.
1. International Storytelling Festival – Givatayim
Over 800 performers from countries across the globe will take part in shows between October 9th-18th, 2014.
2. Sukkot Tour at Safra Square – Jerusalem
The largest sukkah in Israel, lit up at night by colorful lights, is open for tours on October 12th-14th, 2014.
3. Jerusalem March – Sacher Park, Jerusalem
Thousands of people participate in a parade through the city on the final night of Sukkot, October 14th, and end in the park with a public barbeque and open air festival.
4. Tamar Music Festival – Dead Sea
Israel’s most popular artists perform their music at three different locations around the Dead Sea on October 11th-15th: Kikar Sdom Villages, Masada National Park, and Kibbutz Ein Gedi.
5. Bethlehem Road Festival – Jerusalem
Between 5-11 pm on October 12th, Bethlehem Road in the Baka neighborhood will come alive with art exhibits, street theater, dancing, craft and food stalls, and more.
