Israel is cooking: Making sabich

Watch as Chef Moti David of Adom, located in Jerusalem, creates his contemporary version of sabich, a traditional Sabbath morning dish that has become a street-food staple in Israel.

Typically, a sabich pita sandwich is stuffed with roasted eggplant, tahini, parsley, mango chutney, and a hard-boiled egg. David takes away the pita, poaches the egg, and plates the concoction elegantly on a bed of chickpeas. Do not get too hungry watching this! Enjoy!
